Ink Warm Up Work and Oil Pastel Works

transition sketches

This was a warm up piece in ink looking at a way of shifting from a square to a circle. It is very free and I good way to get started. The ink and the wooden brush means that the marks are very unpredictable, helping to free up before beginning on the days work. Although I do also think that there is a simple aesthetic calm to them, so they might become part of my work some how.

Some thing very simple next to get me thinking about colour and how these might fit together. Also created an interesting affect on the floor.

These are oil pastel shapes, starting with the orange circles and then paper stuck over to create the blue squares, a mixture of oil pastel and acrylic paint was used to create the thick black areas. I really enjoyed doing this piece and want to do more like it. I believe that this a style that works really well with my way of creating, and so an idea that I should continue to explore.
