Video Editing

The editing process did take longer than I expected but the result was definitely worth it. This version doesn’t have audio yet and includes most of the footage we got during the day.


When video editing I prefer to use iMovie, although its a bit more basic than some more varied programs its a good starting point to understand what can be done with the video. I began by selection the bits of film I wanted to put in and then removing all the unwanted audio. I worked out a storyboard that would include images from our walk around Cardiff. The biggest challenge was working out how to successfully layer footage without there being to much movement for a viewer to focus on. I tried to combat this by making clear divides between layered video and sometimes slowing down the bottom footage.
