The darkness of this painting makes it difficult to get a decent photograph but I think it is still possible to see the dark colours and tonal aspects of the structural painting.
I now find this the hardest to look at post-completion. I have been re-exploring my ability and desire to paint since the death of my Grandad, this painting shows how I lost all inspiration, as well as all the colours that I was so comfortable using turning dark. There are still tonal colours to the painting, but they are muted and dulled by the dark black tones. There, of course, is hope for the white, bright forms to take back control as they have now begun to done, but for a long time this is what filled my creative brain and stunted my painting drive.
